What if devotion is love?

Feb 09, 2026

Two days before Valentine’s Day feels like an odd time to send this.

Or maybe it’s perfect.

Because if your feed is anything like mine, it’s about to fill with roses, romantic gestures, and proof-of-love posts. And if you're single, unsure, or just tired of the performance — it can feel like salt in a wound.

So I want to offer something different.

What if devotion is the vehicle?
And love is only what it carries when we choose it?

Devotion isn’t automatically love.
It can carry longing.
It can carry lust.
It can carry the ache of being unseen, the need to prove, the hunger for validation.
Devotion will carry whatever we place inside it.

But when we choose…
when we consciously offer our sustained attention to something worthy of the heart…
devotion becomes the carrier of love.

Not romantic love.
Not holiday love.
Not the love that fades when the flowers do.

A quieter love —
the kind that shows up on ordinary days,
that tends the flame when no one is watching,
that keeps choosing even when it feels inconvenient or tender.

Love is attention sustained.
And devotion is the current that carries that attention forward.

Quan Yin once told me:

"Devotion is the energetic example that all enlightened and Ascended Beings share. For we are aligned with Source, and the force that transforms is devotion."

Devotion itself is neutral.
What transforms us is what we place inside it.

So this Valentine’s, instead of measuring love by gestures or gifts, I invite you to ask:

Where does my sustained attention go?
And does it carry love… or something else?

Because that is where your devotion is flowing.
And that is what your life is responding to.

Speaking of sustained attention…

Saturday night is Maha Shivratri — the Great Night of Shiva.

The night the old self dissolves.
The night we stay awake to witness what is real.
The night devotion to truth strips away everything we’ve outgrown.

And it is also the night The Mystic’s Cycle of Initiation opens.

Nine weeks walking the 7 Pillars of Devotion.
Not information — initiation.

If something in you has been dying…
If something in you is ready to rise…
This is your doorway.

Doors open Saturday.
They close Sunday — before the Solar Eclipse on Monday.

Those who enter will journey through the eclipse portal together.
The eclipse becomes part of the initiation.

More soon.

With devotion — consciously chosen,
Shanti
