A map the soul made before arriving
Vedic astrology โ Jyotish โ is one of the oldest systems of self-understanding in the world. Where Western astrology often emphasizes psychological patterning, Jyotish places more emphasis on karma, timing, dharma, and the unfolding of life through planetary periods. The two systems are different frameworks, not competing ones.
A natal chart reading works with the full picture โ your chart as it was at birth, the story it holds, and what it reveals about how your life is designed to unfold. A transit reading looks at where the planets are now in relation to your natal chart, and what the current season is calling you toward or preparing you for.
Both readings are delivered as recorded personal videos, not live calls. This allows for a thorough, unhurried reading you can return to, pause, and rewatch โ far more useful than a single session where you are trying to take notes while absorbing information.
Sidereal, not tropical
These readings use the Vedic sidereal zodiac โ the actual positions of the planets against the fixed stars. If you have had a Western astrology reading before, your signs and placements will likely be different here. That is not an error. The two systems use different reference points. Many people find the Vedic chart offers a different kind of precision, especially around timing, karma, and the unfolding of life seasons.
The lineage
Rooted in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra
Jyotish โ the science of light โ traces its foundations to Maharishi Parashara, the ancient Vedic sage who codified the principles of this system in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, one of the oldest and most comprehensive texts in astrological history.
This is not sun-sign astrology or personality typing. It is a precise system that maps the soul's relationship to time โ the Dasha periods that govern each season of life, the karma encoded in the natal chart, the dharmic pattern the chart suggests the soul is here to work through.
Shanti's readings are grounded in this classical tradition and informed by deep intuitive perception, so the chart is not only interpreted technically but read for what it reveals about the soul's path and timing.
How it works
Recorded. Personal. Yours to keep.
You book and submit your information
After checkout you access your session portal. You submit your exact birth date, birth time, and birth location โ and up to 3 specific questions you want the reading to address. The more precise your questions, the more useful the reading.
Shanti prepares and records your reading
Shanti works with your chart and your questions, then records your reading as a personal video โ thorough and unhurried, without the pressure of a live session. These are not batch-generated readings. Each one is prepared individually, which is why the turnaround is 3 to 5 weeks.
You receive your recording
You receive a link to your personal recorded reading through your session portal. Watch it once for the full picture. Watch it again when specific seasons arrive and the chart becomes more relevant. This is a resource you will return to.
The readings
Natal chart or current transits
If you have never had a Vedic reading before, start with the natal chart. The transit reading is most useful when you already understand your natal chart, or when you are navigating a specific season and want to understand what the planets are activating right now.

What makes the reading precise
Birth data required
Exact birth date โ day, month, year
Birth time โ as precise as possible, ideally from a birth certificate. Even 15 minutes of difference can shift the rising sign and change the reading significantly.
Birth location โ city and country is sufficient.
Your three questions
You submit up to 3 questions when you book. These shape the focus of the reading. The more specific your questions, the more useful the reading.
Examples: "What is the Dasha period I am entering and what does it ask of me?" or "What does my chart show about my dharmic work?" or "What is the chart saying about this particular season in my relationships?"
Common questions
What you may be wondering
Why is this delivered as a recording rather than a live call?
A natal chart contains a significant amount of information. In a live session, most of that time is spent absorbing rather than retaining. A recorded reading allows Shanti to go deeper without managing the pace of the conversation, and gives you something you can return to as different seasons of your life unfold and the chart becomes more relevant.
How long does it take to receive the reading?
Typically 3 to 5 weeks from when you submit your birth data and questions. Shanti works with a limited number of readings at a time to ensure each one receives full attention. You will receive an acknowledgement when your information is received, and a notification when your recording is ready.
Should I start with the natal chart or the transit reading?
If you have never had a Vedic reading before, start with the natal chart. It is the foundation. The transit reading is most useful when you understand your natal chart and want to understand what a specific current season is activating within it.
I have had a Western astrology reading. Will this be the same?
No. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac โ the actual positions of the planets against the fixed stars โ rather than the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology. Your signs and placements will likely be different. The two systems are not competing โ they emphasize different things. Jyotish tends to place more weight on karma, timing, and life seasons than on psychological personality description. Many people find it offers a different kind of insight rather than a better or worse one.
Can I ask follow-up questions after I receive the recording?
The reading is designed to be thorough enough that most questions are addressed within it. If one brief clarifying question surfaces after you watch it, reach Shanti through the contact page and she will let you know what can be answered simply and what may call for a follow-up session. Follow-up sessions are available as transit readings.
